THE meeting to attend--
April 12, 2011 - 6:00 pm
Medford Schools Ed Ctr
Cafeteria/Boardroom
815 S. Oakdale Avenue
The Superintendent will be presenting his proposed budget to the budget committee as well as the Board. I am assuming the documents will be available at least 24 hours in advance on the internet. Watch for them.
Since being elected to the Medford School Board, I have decided to modify this blog’s purpose and use it as a means of expressing my personal views on education generally, along with specific challenges facing the Medford community. As a Board, once we vote, we speak as one. I respect that role. But as a parent, grandparent, and retired educator, I want to provide resources and perspectives that will assist and inform Medford parents. I look forward to your feedback.

Voter Pamphlet
I submitted my comments for the Official Voters Pamphlet yesterday. I'll hold off including them here until after the submission deadline, March 21. I must say, they count words differently at the County Clerk's office. I would have been able to have included several thoughts I omitted, due to the word count the computer gave me. Hopefully, the voters will excuse the brevity. I was especially appreciative of those who allowed me to use their names as endorsements. That is another complicated process, but I can appreciate why the procedure is this way. It is designed to make certain any endorsements are legitimate.
I submitted my statement early because I am anticipating getting a call about our daughter having a baby and I'll be heading for Montana! I didn't want to have any problems getting my thoughts into the Pamphlet.
